When I first started my lifestyle change, my daughter was 4 years old. I was at my heaviest ever in life at 205 lbs. I’m only 5’0 and you can imagine how much weight I was carrying on me. As she got older, she became more active and as I got heavier – my energy level was down. I declined outings with her because I knew it would be too difficult to manage. I started to lose my confidence quickly and overall became very unhappy with who I was as a person. I do professional photography outside of my job as a teacher and the irony is.. I hated being in photographs myself. I was watching my daughter grow up with minimal photos of her and I together. Then I woke up one morning and everything changed. My daughter is my life and I woke up one morning to her beside me knowing I needed to make a change. I felt that I was losing my strength as a mother and I knew that as my daughter got older she would look up to me more. I didnt wa nt her to fall down the same unhealthy path that I was going. I started working out steadily and counting my calories and started to drop weight. I managed to get 50 lbs off alone but then hit a plateau afterwards for an entire year. I wasn’t losing anything and I didn’t know why or how to fix it. Then I started at the Worx in July 2015 and since then (3 months later) I have lost an additional 10 lbs and a total of 3 inches off of my waist, 2 inches from each arm and 2 inches off of each thigh. I started my journey at 205 lbs, size 16/18 clothing, and size XL shirts (if that). I am now at 145 lbs. and in size 8 clothing and size S/M shirts.
